Thank you Martin Brändle for your reply.First of all NO, Filemaker does not use proxy settings from your browser settings.It is a SHAME that such a good Program like FM8 and you cannot use the XML web features in most Asian and Middle East Countries.I wonder if there is a workaround to this.

Is there anyway to specify the proxy server in filemaker 8 advanced? In most Asian & Middle East countries you have to go through a proxy to conect to the internet.Therefore it is impossible??? to send an http request to access xml data from Filemaker.Or am I wrong? Thanks for your answer in advance

I finally figured it out.In the Middle east we have to go through a proxy.Though I can set the proxy server in the Internet explorer.I dont see a way to set it in Filemaker.Does anybody know how to do this? Thanks in Advance.

Thank you once again sir for yor reply.No I am not using xsl stylesheet.Like you said I just enter the URL http://www.geocities.com/goaben/ck.xml into the HTTP Request box.I tried the Open also but it gives the same message.Thanks a million for trying it out.Now I think it must be the network or firewall or something.I need to figure it out.Thanks again.

@ Fenton Thank you very much for your reply.I have tried doing the above, Infact now I have changed the file with named fields but i am still geting the error below XML parsing error: An exception occured! Type:NetAccessorException, Message:Could not connect to the socket for URL '{0}' Error=1 Line Number: 0 Column Number: 0 I have a active internet conection.I just cant see why I cant import this data into filemaker from the web.However I can import the same file if i have it on my local machine.

Ok to make it simple I have this file at http://www.geocities.com/goaben/ck.xml which I need to import into filemaker database from the present location.Is there any way I can do it with Filemaker 8 advn?Help appreciated.

Maybe this is a stupid question.But somehow I cannot figure this out.I have a xml file exported from filemaker 8 having just 2 fields ,Model code & qty.I need to import this in to filemaker database from the web.The idea is that our clients in other countries using Filemaker allways have the latest data.Or is there a easier way to do this? Help appreciated. Thanks a million in advance.
