  1. I have a small database that I use to keep scanned copies of documents i need to archive. At the moment i am able to import the files as pictures and using the file name can perform various activities with external applications etc. However i would like to be able to do the following: Import the file size with the image (this is so that i can screen erronous images) Atuomatically delete records based on date i.e. after 1 month from date of import. When deleting the records from the database delete also from the computer. I realise that the last two are not really for this particular forum but i guess they do have a relavence as i am sure others may find such functionality usefull for archiving purposes. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. p.s. if need be i can attach the database to a post if it makes a difference.
  2. So obvious when i look at the options!!! That will certainly save a lot of time and confusion when importing records in the future. Along the same lines is it possible to get the file size of the file you are importing, have looked in the options but cant seem to find this one. even thought i may be able to use the get file size option pointed at the container, but no go. Is there an easy way to do this. It's just because i know that any files imported under a certain size will be scan errors so i will find these records and tell the user to delete the records and rescan images. Many thanks, It certainly makes a difference having a forum like this to bounce ideas around and hopefully i may be able to help someone in turn (might take a while though!!) :P
  3. I have adapted the FM7 Document Library template to store images (as references), however when I import using: Show all records Set error capture off import records, update existing records perform find to show imported records constrain found set the pictures imported replace existing records meaning i have to find the new pictures manually change the details and then re-enter the details for the misplaced records. Apologies if this is not particularly clear however i am not entirley sure how this can be happening. I have included a sample of the database to illustrate my problems. I am wondering if it is something to do with only importing a reference to the file. If anybody could help then you would make a very confused person happy. :D Equipment_Check_Sheet_Clone.zip
  4. Genx, Thanks for the idea, that seems the most suitable solution for this, just helps to save time. Thanks again.
  5. Does anybody know if it is possible to zoom only the contents of a container field (in this case a .jpeg) instead of the whole page. I have tried in script maker to do this through the set field and then zoom in, but i still get the whole record zooming. I really dont want to have to go to another view with the image zoomed as I have at the moment, simply due to the number of records being held it will take to long to go between the main form and the new window. Any help would be much appreciated.
  6. i have recently been converted from Access to Filemaker and am having trouble with scanning images into my database. I have downloaded and installed the inside scan plug in however i cant find any documentation on how to call and control it. If anybody could help i would be very appreciative indeed. Regards, JP2004
