  1. Who Me?

    Flashing Field

Ok, it worked! I sent the field to the back. Now 2 questions? 1. What made it do that in the first palce? 2. How the heck did you know that? I searched everywhere and found nothing. Thanks for the help, Brandon
  2. Who Me?

    Flashing Field

I currently have a field that "Flashes" or "Blinks" when you navigate to that layout. It is the only one on the layout that does this. I cant seem to locate any information about a problem such as this. Has anyone ever had this happen before? Thank You, Brandon
  3. Phil, Thank you for the reply. After looking closer at the list I think I can break it down into sub-cats. Ill give the conditional a try, I have not done one, hopefully my FM8 book will have something to guide me. Thanks for the suggestion, it should work better than my original thought. Brandon
  4. Hello everyone, I need some expert advice. I was building a layout with a field for a “Course” selection, I was just going to us a value list with drop-down arrow on the field, and then I found out that they had about 400 courses. How can I effectively implement a solution so that the user will not have to type each course ID in the field? The only thing I can think of is using the value list, and have the auto complete enabled and not show the drop-down arrow on the field? Am I thinking correctly on this one, or have I once again made it more difficult than it has to be? Thanks for any suggestions. Barndon
  5. Well I feel foolish, after 3 hours going thru script after script and everything else I finally figured out I had joined the wrong tables together. Well at least its not raining. Brandon
  6. Hi, I am getting the error below, I have checked and rechecked. Does anyone have any idea what I have left out? I asume it is somehting simple as not joining tables correctly? This operation cannot be performed because one or more required related records are not available and cannot be created. Thank you, Brandon
  7. Wow, how easy...I was trying to set it up compeletly in the wrong direction. Thanks so much! Brandon
  8. Hello, I am very new to FM and I have a question which I am sure is so simple, however I cant find the solution anywhere. I have created two tables, I want to enter data into table #1 and have it also fill in table #2. I want to be able to delete the data from table #1, yet have the data in table #2 remain, I guess what I want is a record kept of the data from table #1 even though it has been deleted. Could someone point me in the right direction? Sorry if this is not the beginners section...could not find any area for new kids on the block. Thanks for any help. Brandon
