  1. Hello everyone. Well ... I have made the jump. I am moving from MicroCrap to Filemaker. I have purchased both FM9 Advanced and the server addition in an effort to convert several clients in an MSsql environment to a more friendly and hopefully more user friendly FM solution. But I am having an issue understanding something. Please enlighten me. I need to make several complex math calculations based on various field data from a single table. These calculations do not need to be stored but rather just displayed to the end user. In Access I would simply create a text entity and assign a calculation. No muss no fuss. But in FM I have to create a field for every calculation. This seems like a poor way to design a database. My understanding from the old days of relational DB design is that you never store a calculation unless you intend to further calculate that value. What am I missing here.
