  1. OMG!! Duh!!! Now why the hell didn't I think of that!?!?!?!? O.K. Now I feel totally stupid. I'm so sorry... I really need to stop making this harder than what it needs to be! Thank you so very much! I'm bowing out and eating some humble pie...
  2. Yes the are related tables. And I am going to make the portals sorted. I was just trying to bring that date up front as that portal is on another tab is all. It's not a real big deal actually. Just one of those wouldn't it be nice things is all...
  3. Hello everyone. I'm assuming this is a calculation question but if not I'm sorry.. I have a database I'm using for my firearms which contains info. about maint. and cleaning in two seperate portals just so I could keep track of them better. Now what I'm looking for is to pull the last date the firearm was cleaned and had maint. done on it automatically. Can this be done? Or is this another item I need to have to calculate manually for each record? I can't seem to engage the brain in order to figure this out. I'm sure it's stupidly simple that I will kick myself after the first response! : So I thank you in advance!
  4. Actually I finally got it.. It's not automatic though. I have to click a button to get these calculations done but it does work. And I was missing some relationships etc. Been playing with variables in my scripts and am finally getting some of the project list checked off! Thanks again for your reply! :
  5. In my database I wish to have a "calendar" view based on dates / times in my one table. What I want is for this to be "dynamic" I guess you could say. I don't want to have to put the "events" into the calendar tables if you will. I would like the calendar to pull that info on the fly from my one table. Is this even possible? I've seen so many different calendars out there I have no idea where to start. I don't even fully understand the calculations part of the calendars yet. I hope this was posted in the correct place.
  6. O.K. I have this database that has evolved two fold since the brain storm step. I have a Class Registration table and a Student Contact table and then another table is related to the Student Contact table to keep track of every class said student takes/attends. In the table it has a "Overall Grade" field that contains Complete or Incomplete and possibly nothing if the record hasn't been adjusted yet. So in the Class Registration section I want to count how many students have a status of Complete. I've tried the case and the first non-complete it find it stops. I'm not sure how to do the if / then statements if that is in fact the best way to go. Did I make this clear enough to understand?
  7. Thanks for the reply... All the "yes/no" is for would be a visual to know that course was completed and also for a "filter" for that drop down list of available courses.
  8. Hello folks... I'm new here and have just started to go through this site... I have a solution I'm making for my own CPR biz right now. What I'm trying to do is this.. My course records table contains a course #. This course number is entered in a spot for each student we have. Also in the course table I have an option that states if everything has been completed with the course choose yes. Based off of another compnay's design what that is suppose to do is prevent that particular class to show up in the drop down list of available courses over on the student side of things. I can not figure out how to make that happen. I've done a search for that class along with omitting the other class. This just isn't working. I'm sure this is stupidly simple and I'm so frustrated that I'm not thinking clearly enough to figure it out... Thanks in advance for the help!
