  1. Please excuse my late reply. In regards to all your questions, i have no idea! haha as i said above, it works but i am sure i have done it wrong. this is my first attempt at any form of database so i am a complete novice. I think you get the idea of what i'm trying to do though right?

  3. Hi guys, I have almost finished my little database (somehow) but i am stuck on one last problem which i just can't seem to figure out. It's probably way to much explaining so i thought i might just upload the database here (it is only small) and see if anyone would take a look at it. Basically what i would like to do is, in the 'profits' table i would like all the fields to auto-calculate the sum of money based on the 'bookings' table. The reason i am uploading the database is because i would have to explain all the relations and i am sure, although it works i have done it wrong haha any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Booking.zip
  4. Simon, That was much more than i was expecting, i am very greatful you went to the trouble to do that. Thank you very much! You were pretty much spot on with what i wanted to do, thanks again
  5. Dear filemaker oricles, I am not an expert by all means, i am just doing a simple data base for my training center. I have setup two fields, 'course type' and 'course fee'. The course type field is a dropdown list of all our courses. I want the 'course fee' field to auto-fill itself depending on the course thatis selected from the drop-down list. The problem i am having is, i can't figure out how to assign prices to each entry in the value list. Any help would be fantastic
  6. Thanks very much for your responce, i'll give it a go
  7. Hey guys, i'm sorry if this question has come up before and also i apologize if it is a rediculously easy solution, i have spent many many hours trying to work it out and searching and reading for the solution but couldn't find it. I am setting up a staff hours record and everything is ready to go bar one thing. I want to setup a button in which the user clicks to open up thier hours for the week but must enter a username and password first (to stop other staff from editing pr viewing others hours). I tried using a password script but this doesn't seem to have anywhere where i can set the passwords and i can just hit cancel and the staff can still enter in the information. Any help would be greatly appreciated
