  1. Hello, I'm have a FM DB that I have transferred to an ipad to operate remotely. I have a script to export found records as merge files to be sent as emails. When I try and run this script, FM go presents a warning dialogue claiming "The script step "export Records" is not supported on this device." I wondered if any body could share some insight on how this may be resolved. thank you for your help with this. Metso

  3. Hello, I have a database with a script set up to export fields into a merge file which I can then import. I've since added some new fields to the database Now when I run the script the new fields are not included within the exported merge file. I don't know how to adapt the script so that the new fields are included within the export. I believe it to be within the Set Variable where the script looks at what fields are to be exported within the "Set Variable" dialogue box "file:" & Get(DesktopPath) & "dataAllFnd" & LeftWords(Get ( UserName );1) & GetAsText (Year ( Get ( CurrentDate ))) & "_" & GetAsText (Month ( Get ( CurrentDate ))) & "_" & GetAsText (Day ( Get ( CurrentDate ))) & "_" & GetAsText (Hour (Get ( CurrentTime ))) & GetAsText (Minute (Get ( CurrentTime ))) & "_tks.mer" i've included a screen shot Thank you for taking the time to read my post ad for any help you may be able to offer.

  5. say for example I have a value list comprising of A,B,C,D,E Supposing I always choose the value A and rarely choose one of the other values, is there a way that the field starts of with A in the field and if you wish to change it to one of the other values you can click on the field and it will present you with a value list A,B,C,D,E? thanks for any assistance. 6. Hi thank you for responding. I don't see how you can enter the "table::date field ; Get (CurrentDate)" into the set field[] and table::effect required ; "*" into the set field [] thanks
  7. Hi I'm new to scripts in Filemaker and would like to start getting my head around writing a script to help me in creating a daily report. I have created a database where I record information for a film project to track shots that need effects work done on them. I have set up the database to so I can input various data based around the number of cameras used on a particular day. I need to create a daily report that pulls in all the shots for the current day that requires an effect. I fill in a field for each camera if the particular camera shot requires an effect. Camera's without effects I leave the field blank. My idea is that I perform a find Enter Find Mode [] Set Field [ table::date field ; Get (CurrentDate) ] New Record/Request Set Field [ ] Omit Record in the set field, if their is no entry in the specific field how do enter it so it will omit the record (or cameras without effects) any help will be most appreaciated. Thank you
