Need script to add field contents to another db

Featured Replies

I have two related db's. When I make a new record and then enter the acct # in one field, I want it to add the same number to a new record in the other (related) db. How do I do this? I've been trying various scripts without success. Each db has the same acct # field. thanks

If:

1) Your relationship specifies "allow creation of related records"

and

2) You have a related field from your second file on the layout in your first file

then

3) As soon as you type anything in the related field, a new record will be automatically created in your second (related) file.

bd:

Allow creation of records -- yes

Related field on second file -- it is related, but I have to fill in the same account # as the first file (or db) before that relationship takes effect -- then it works fine. When I create a new account # on the primary db, I want the second db to create a new related record automatically. It does not do that now.

thanks,
