Printing a blank report after finding 0 records

Featured Replies

How do I script a report that is blank after finding 0 record in a query. My current output layout has a header but the preview is blank after the find. I would like to still print a page that reports no records in the find.

If (Status (CurrentFoundCount) = 0)

. New Record

. Set Field (SomeField, "No records found.")

. Print etc. etc.

. Delete Record

. Show All Records

End If

Another option:

If Status (CurrentFoundCount) = 0

Go to Layout "No Records Found Layout"

Else

Go to Layout "Actual Report Print Layout"

End If

Print...

Go to Layout (Original)

...where the layout you go to is a duplicate of the report you'd normally print, only with the "No records found" message hard-coded into the page. This will prevent mess-ups with auto-entered serial numbers, etc. when creating/deleting the faux record, if this is an issue for you.
