Is there any way to export records from Filemaker Pro to Exel with column heading.

My another question is can I export selected records to Exel ? If yes then can you please tell me how can we do above two things.

Thanks,

Im not sure if this is the definitive answer, but you can make one record in FM with just the field names. When you import to Excel, this record with the field names will be down at the bottom. Move it to the top and you have column headings.

As far as exporting selected records, Perform a find to get the desired records. Then you can export the found set.

Hope I could help

Exporting in "Merge Files" format *.mer will give you the field names as column headings. You can then open this file in Excel using comma delimited file as the import type.

You can import directly into Excel using ODBC and this also will give you column headings. The process for ODBC is to involved to answer on this forum, check the manual or purchase Using Filemaker Pro 5 special edition by Comlombre adn Price, exellent source for information on ODBC as well as other items in Filemake.
