Hi, there,

I know that Microsoft recommends running the DC of a domain in a dedicated machine, and filemaker surely also would best placed on a dedicated host.

Still, is it possible to run FM 16 (and the following releases) on a VM running the DC role? Performance is not an issue (it's a small environment), but the cost of an extra server license is.

Even in big environments DC's generally don't need a lot of resources. You can always migrate FM off to another server if it turns out to be an issue.
