okrauth Posted July 23, 2002 Posted July 23, 2002 I've been browsing thru this forum and I am curious about the settings and advantages when using RAMBunctions with FMS 5.x on a Mac 9.2 system.... What general setting do you recommend for RAMBunctions? Write through? How much of an overhead should I leave in the RAM disk after I copy the Server applications and the database files? Thanks! otto
Kurt Knippel Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 We have 5 servers running Filemaker Server in a RAM disk with RAMbunctious. We set Write-Through every 10 minutes. You only need to leave as much space available as you think that the dbs will grow. Most likely you will need to add RAM over time. We allocated about 50MB to the OS and put the rest (206-462MB) into the RAM disk. It works GREAT.
