April 29, 20205 yr Newbies I tried to update two databases from version 6 to 9 -- FM 9 read the files and then asked me for a password. I entered the password I had used, and a dialog said "The account and password you entered cannot be used to access this file." I was sure I had used the correct, case-sensitive password. I duplicated the files and opened them in v. 6, and deleted the passwords. Tried to open those in 9 and got the same message. Another post in this forum on the same issue said that since 6 did not require account names, you needed to enter the password in both the account name and password text entry fields. Tried that, nope. I opened all four files in 6 to confirm that the originals had the password (which is "edit") and the two copies had no passwords. I can't think of what else to try. Thank you for your help! John R.
April 29, 20205 yr Author Newbies I tried leaving the account name where it was, and leaving the password box blank. Also tried putting the password into the account name box. No joy. Same dialog.
