360Works is proud to announce the release of FTPeek 3! 360Works FTPeek is a FileMaker plugin that allows you to upload, download, and manipulate remote files on an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server from within your FileMaker solution.

FTPeek supports a variety of file transfer protocols, such as FTP, SFTP, FTPS.

The biggest feature in FTPeek 3 is the new FileMaker and Dropbox integration capability. Dropbox is a popular, cloud-based content storage platform that keeps all of your files in one place with an intuitive interface.

If you have users working in both Dropbox and FileMaker, you can now seamlessly integrate the two, allowing users to access and manage Dropbox files from within FileMaker!

FTPeek 3 features a new shareable link feature for Amazon Web Services S3 as well.

New Features

  • Major new feature: now supports file manipulation with Dropbox accounts
  • OAuth workflow: plugin functions have been added for use with connecting to Dropbox
  • For Dropbox login, a browser URL is provided for first-time login after which, new FTPeek functions will manage access and refresh tokens
  • Implemented sharable download link feature for S3

Watch the following demonstration video for a virtual tour around FTPeek 3.

Purchasing and Upgrading

Existing FTPeek users can now upgrade to major version 3 at the FTPeek page (button provided below), navigate to 'Buy or Upgrade Now', from there you can view the upgrade cost underneath your license type, and proceed to checkout by entering your existing license key information. FTPeek is not a product with maintenance, so you can upgrade even if you are running a version that was not purchased in the past 12 months.

As always, FTPeek 3 is free to try in a fully functioning demo mode which can be obtained at the FTPeek store page. While in demo mode, the product will run for 2 hours every time you launch FileMaker (or FileMaker Server, for server deployment).

      New Major Version Release:
Email 4 with OAuth for Gmail and Office 365
We are excited to announce a new major version of a popular 360Works Plugin, introducing Email 4! The 360Works Email Plugin for FileMaker can send and receive HTML or plain text email while integrating with popular services such as Gmail by Google and Office 365 by Microsoft (SMTP, POP, and IMAP) from your FileMaker solution. Additionally, you can send SMS / text messages from FileMaker using this plugin.

We have added new support for OAuth (Open Authentication) with Google and Office 365. The 360Works Email Plugin now provides functions that will enable users to fetch OAuth tokens, and use those OAuth tokens to connect to Gmail and Office 365 Mail servers.

OAuth provides better security by having users login using their credentials from Google or Microsoft Active Directory. This allows more control over password management by using a login that is familiar and consistent for users.
      New Improvements List
Added the ability to initiate OAuth workflow, and fetch OAuth tokens from Google and Office 365 OAuth tokens can now be used to connect to Google and Office 365 mail servers to send and receive mail Tokens can be silently refreshed using refresh tokens that are long-lived
      Availability
You can upgrade, try, or buy at the Email plugin product page.

If you currently own Email version 3, click upgrade under your license type once in the product page store area (paid upgrade, non-maintenance product). License holders with version 1 or 2 will need to purchase a new license.

For new license purchases, we have several license types available based on number of users, client-side or server-side usage, and a solution bundle license for developers with a vertical market solution.

A free, fully functional demo is available to test the Email plugin. While in demo mode, the Email plugin will run for 2 hours every time you launch FileMaker (or FileMaker Server, for server deployment).

Try or Buy Email 4   In order to understand OAuth workflows better and how to get started, we have added documentation at the 360Works Docs Wiki.

Featuring Jesse Barnum on 360Works SafetyNet
Join Jesse Barnum and Richard Carlton over at FileMaker Training TV for a fun, live demonstration and chat on 360Works SafetyNet, a FileMaker Server offsite backup, at 1 p.m. Pacific Time/4 p.m. Eastern Time
The team at Richard Carlton Consulting will be having Jesse Barnum, President of 360Works, on their FMTraining TV Twitch live stream on Thursday, March 11 at 4:00 p.m. ET to talk about 360Works SafetyNet, an add-on tool built to help FileMaker Developers rest easy, knowing that their essential FileMaker databases are backed up online with secure and easy retrieval at any time.
During the live stream, Jesse will showcase the improved SafetyNet reliability, security, speed, and pricing as follows:
SafetyNet now sets up new customers with a 3-day WORM lock (Write Once, Read Many), which ensures that it is impossible to delete or overwrite backups until they are at least three days old. This not only protects against accidental deletion of important backups, it also ensures that hackers or ransomware attacks cannot corrupt or destroy your backups. Many reliability improvements, incorporating many recent improvements that have been made in MirrorSync. Now automatically detects the nearest AWS region for storing backup files, so backing up and restoring will be fast from anywhere in the world. We've fixed the bug that caused problems with some newer AWS regions. Backups are faster, status updates are more responsive You can now specify one or more additional email addresses for backup notifications (in addition to your Amazon account email address) Significant price reduction for storage over 10 gigabytes, with volume pricing as low as $0.05 per gigabyte over 500 gigabytes; try the price calculator to see the new rates Installer is now more reliable and no longer requires Java
