Hello -

Is the Outlook ID for all of my contacts imported from Outlook into FMP supposed to be identical for all records? I thought it was supposed to be a unique ID across all Outlook records (contacts, tasks, emails, etc.).

Thanks.

Actually, I take that back. I did a duplicate search in FMP by typing ! into the Outlook ID field and it showed all records as being duplicates, which led me to believe they were. After a closer look, turns out they are not duplicates. FMP must have a character limit, past which it doesn't check for duplicate data. I never knew that!

Hello cjohnson,

The outlook ID is always a unique identifier. It may look similar, but that’s only because the first 20 to 30 characters are often the same within the same folder (Contacts, Mail, Calendar, etc.).  The IDs should be unique for each record when pulling from Outlook.
