Execute a Python script and get data back from it

Featured Replies

Hi! I've some devices for time attendance and I want to use a ready python library to read datas and import them to Filemaker.
There is maybe a Filemaker plugin that is able to execute a python script and import some datas? If not.. should I do it with command prompt?
About importing data, should it be by writing down a file with Python and read it back in FileMarker?  Or there is any simpler way to do it by RAM? (for example and array). Thank you for any idea about that :)

Any suggestion here? Thank you a lot

The only suggestion I can think of is to check out the bBox plugin. I have never used it, nor Python, so that's about all I can tell you. Esp. since you did not say what OS this is supposed to run on, or what exactly does "read datas" entail. I believe on the Mac platform you could use AppleScript to run Python in a shell command, so at least in theory this should be able to provide a way to get the result back to Filemaker.

Oh, and one more suggestion: google "Filemaker Python". That should provide some more leads, I think.

Hi, I forgot to tell I'm using WIndows, this plugin seems very good, thanks a lot for answer, but it works only under Mac or LInux? ((
