I have reached a point in development where I can not name or rename a script. I am using Filemaker 18.  I used all options.  The title flashes for 1 second then i am unable to enter a name.  Please assist. Thank you.

do you have perhaps an onTimer script running. if so make sure to cancel it.

Yes i do.  Do i halt script then activate it after i make changes?

 

yes or set a global variable $$isDev to 1 while you working and any script that installs a timer exit script since you're doing development you shouldn't have a on timer script running.
