Jeffrey Bloch
My solution is hosted and will be accessed by FM desktop installations (not web direct). If I use uncommon fonts in my design, will I need to assure users install the fonts, or will they work properly on the client side?
comment
A Filemaker file stores only the names of the fonts you used, not the fonts themselves. If a font is unavailable on the current system, it will be substituted by another font.
Jeffrey Bloch
Thanks. Do you know if Custom Functions need to be installed on the client-side or if it’s enough that they exist on the server?
comment
Custom functions are embedded in the solution file. Unless clients are using their own file to connect to the hosted data, they do not need to install them (and have nowhere to install them anyway). Jeffrey Bloch
I’ll have clients using FM on PCs/Macs as well as FM GO.
comment
It makes no difference. As long as they are opening the hosted file, the custom functions in that file will work for them.
