AndyPost Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 I'm new to sharing DBases and need help. I've two computers with FM on them one a PC (W2K, FM6) and one Mac (OS9, FM5.5). I've one little file to test with, on which I've set a password with full privileges, and set File Sharing to Multi-User, and checked Companion Sharing to Local Data Access Companion. I'm opening the file on my PC, and accessing it on the Mac. When I click the Mac's "Host" button it presents me with a Blank list. If I try to open the file from the file list, I get "Source.fp5 is currently in use and could not be opened. The file is single-user or the host could not be found on the network". If I try it from PC to Mac, I get the same message on attempting a direct access. I get a host button that will let me enter the IP address of the mac, but leaves the OK button grayed and the file list blank. Any suggestions?
LiveOak Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 Go the the application preferences for FM and make sure the network protocol preference is set up (TCP/IP) on both machines. -bd
