MBS Plugin 16.3 for Claris FileMaker

Nickenich, Germany - (July 14th, 2026) -- Monkeybread Software today is pleased to announce MBS FileMaker Plugin 16.3 for Claris FileMaker for macOS, iOS, Linux and Windows, the latest update to their product that is easily the most powerful plugin currently available for Claris FileMaker produce line. As the leading database management solution for Windows, macOS, iOS and the web, the Claris FileMaker Pro Integrated Development Environment supports a plugin architecture that can easily extend the feature set of the application. MBS FileMaker Plugin 16.3 has been updated and now includes over 7900 different functions, and the versatile plugin has gained more new functions:

For MongoDB we added functions to store files in the database using GridFS functions. You can create a file and write container values. Later you can find files, read them back into a variable or delete them.

We got Keychain functions for macOS and iOS to store generic passwords. A way to have your FileMaker solution keep sensitive credentials in the system keychain.

The XL functions got updated with new sort options for auto filters. You can check data validations for a sheet, check whether a table has an auto filter and remove the filter.

Our WebView window can optionally show up as a popup window. You can close it in a script with WebView.Close or from JavaScript with window.close function.

For developers we have a display of the time needed by running a calculation with our tools in the calculation dialogs on macOS. You can use the Command-Option-T shortcut for the calculation editor to insert the current selected table occurrence in the popup menu. Or you select a table occurrence in the formula, press the shortcut and select the table occurrence in the popup menu.

We improved the script search. You have an option for a compact result view and to exclude entries in the search results. Search can skip disabled script steps and for regular expressions, we have a help screen.

The list functions can match values based on columns. Great to filter CSV text based on prefix, postfix or substring. The printer functions can list and cancel print jobs on Windows.

For DynaPDF we added the Sauvola filter to convert gray images to black & white. The CNContactPicker functions can return current properties and set which keys to display. SpeechRecognition.Recognize can return the result as JSON with more details, WebView.SetPrintParameter has more options for printing on Windows and ScriptWorkspace.Steps helps to read the list of script steps. Use Window.Screen to check which screen a window is on and use SystemInfo.isGoldenGate to detect the newest macOS version.

Finally we updated CURL library to version 8.21.0, DynaPDF to 5.0.3.12, expat to 2.8.2, jsoncons to 1.8.1, lcms to 2.19.1, libarchive to 3.8.8, LibXL to 5.2.0, mongo-c-driver to 2.3.1, openssl to 3.5.7, SQLite to 3.53.3 and Xcode to version 26.6.
