Forcing Timestamp field to display as hh:mm (not hh:mm:ss)

FileMaker 19.6.3

I have a Timestamp field with: Auto entry options - none; Validation: Only during data entry.

Inspector:

Data > Data Formatting > Time > Format: hhmm

Script:

Insert Current Time …

When I select the field and run the script, the field displays the time as hhmmss.

How can I get the field to display as hhmm?

In my work, I did not see anything leading to that (needing to set the time field formatting to something other than "As entered" for the seconds formatting to be enforced). Your reply from many years ago worked perfectly. thanks
