MBS Plugin 16.4 for Claris FileMaker

Nickenich, Germany - (September 22nd, 2026) -- Monkeybread Software today is pleased to announce MBS FileMaker Plugin 16.4 for Claris FileMaker for macOS, iOS, Linux and Windows, the latest update to their product that is easily the most powerful plugin currently available for Claris FileMaker produce line. As the leading database management solution for Windows, macOS, iOS and the web, the Claris FileMaker Pro Integrated Development Environment supports a plugin architecture that can easily extend the feature set of the application. MBS FileMaker Plugin 16.4 has been updated and now includes over 7900 different functions, and the versatile plugin has gained more new functions:

We add SVG support for our DynaPDF functions. You can load a Scalable Vector Graphics from file or a container. Then you query the number of symbols in the SVG and their sizes. You can draw a symbol on the current page, e.g. to draw a company logo as vector graphics.

Our plugin provides functions to connect to MongoDB from FileMaker. The MongoDB.BulkOperation.Create and related functions submit multiple write operations to the server in one batch. By sending all requests together, you can achieve better performance compared to doing each operation on its own. You can combine this with a transaction to roll back in case of an error.

We improved the search over all scripts. You can store settings and auto load them the next time. Regular expression get syntax highlighting and you can filter for disabled script steps. The search for follow up script steps can find you combinations of script steps, e.g. Enter Find Mode in combination with Go To Layout.

We show tooltip for fields in database design dialog to show field annotations and display names. This can be configured with SyntaxColoring.SetFieldTooltipsEnabledfunction. Use SyntaxColoring.AddCustomFunctionTooltip to add tooltips to your custom functions. And the relationship search shows up in the manage database dialog triggered from a field calculation for macOS and Windows. The contextual menu for the data viewer can copy names and values.

If you implement tools around the Script Workspace, you can use ScriptWorkspace.CurrentTabPreview to check if the current script is a preview and change the state with ScriptWorkspace.CurrentTabTogglePreview function. Use ScriptWorkspace.SetFocusToScript to move the focus to the script. Use FM.Relations to get an overview of all relationships in the current file.

For increased security, you can use Files.CheckSignature function to verify code signatures of applications, frameworks or libraries - including plugins. Use Files.SignatureInfo function to provide details about the signature.

We added support for password fields for our dialog functions on Windows. Use Window.EnableEscForCustomDialog to enable users to close custom dialogs with ESC key. Use Encryption.SetGCMTag for AES encryption with GCM authentication tag.

Finally we updated CURL to version 8.22.0, DynaPDF to 5.0.5.16, expat to 2.8.4, libxml2 to 2.15.3, libxslt to 1.1.45, llama headers to 0.3.0, mongo-c-driver to 2.5.3, openssl to 3.5.8, PCRE2 to 10.48, phidgets to 1.26.20260821, Saxon libraries to 12.10, SQLAPI to 5.4.3, taglib to 2.3.1 and zxing-cpp to 3.1.1.
