Creating related records

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Yet another question that is probably ridiculously simple -

I want users to be able to add a related record directly into a portal, which I know is possible, but for some reason it's not working. I have "allow creation of related records" checked (as well as allow deletion of related records, which does work). What am I missing?

The message I get when I try to type directly into the portal is "The relationship 'Session 1' is not valid and must be corrected before this field can be modified." The relationship I am using is Event ID & Specific session number::Event ID & Any session number - this brings up only the records for a particular session and the portal works just fine. I can make changes to the information in the portal and they transfer to the original file.

Thanks in advance,

Leah

The fields comprising your compound keys must be stored and indexed and cannot be calculations based upon other related fields. The key on either the right side or left side of your relationship breaks one of these rules. Global fields can be used on the left side of a relationhip. Not enough information to diagnose the problem more completely.
