September 20, 200223 yr Newbies I just installed OS X 10.2.1 and FMPro 6. I had been using 9.2.2 and FMPro 3 up til now with no troubles whatsoever. With FMPro 6, I opened my trusty old database created in 3.0 and it opened, looked and worked fine... BUT... when I try to print a record, there is no "Print" button in the Print dialog box. There is only a "Save" button. When I click it, I am taken to another dialog box where I am prompted to save the file as a PDF. Then a very quick status box appears that says "Printing..." only nothing is printed on my printer. And a PDF file of the record is saved. This is very frustrating. The print dialog box has all the options and drop down menus and choices (copies, layout, etc...) but there is NO "PRINT" Button... Only a pulsating button that says "Save..." I've been over and over the preferences and through the maunal and "Help" but I can't find anything. Any ideas? Am I missing something obvious? Thanks.
September 20, 200223 yr Author Newbies I just answered my own question.... In the print dialog box, in the "output options" section on the dropdown menu, there was a "save as a file - PDF" box checked. I've been pulling my hair out all night trying to figure this out. I had overlooked it for hours. URGH. One good thing did come out of this problem... I discovered fmforums.com! I'm sure I'll be back. Thanks, Jim
September 20, 200223 yr I was in the same mess you were in. Here is an attchment for a step by step on how to script the print to pdf.
November 16, 200223 yr Newbies Hey there, tdignan...I tried to use your tutorial on how to print to PDF, but in Step 3 (select "Save As..."), I only have one selection available to me in that drop down...and it is the default "Standard". I was easily able to print to PDF with 5.0, but not with 6. I need it bad. Any advice would be great. Thanks!
November 16, 200223 yr Newbies Wholly Crap. Nevermind. I still wasn't able to do it the way you showed, but when I hit the "Preview" button in the Print dialog, the preview was in PDF form. So I just saved that to my desktop. Interesting. Thanks, anyway.
