Hi there,

I'm trying to download BI MAC SECURITY freeware from downloads.com, and can not do it. I can't find this software anywhere else, either.

The reason for this is I have an older Power MAC 7300/200, and it will not install OS 9.x. I need some kind of log out system, so that I can leave the machine turned on for night backup.

Any suggestions?

It should be possible to run OS 9.1 on a Mac 7300. Also take a look at Eclipse from Ambrosia Software (www.ambrosiasw.com). Depending upon how much security you need, Eclipse is a screen saver that provides a password lockout. This does not prevent someone from rebooting the machine with a startup CD to gain access. Only physical security provides complete protection.
