September 30, 200223 yr Hello, I'm using the Troi plugin to import eps pics into FMP 5.5. It's worked very well and I'm thankful to Peter for updating it to store a reference of the pic full size with high res printing. Now I'm testing moving this system to multiuser and have the following problem. When I was working on one machine I would setup a calc field to reference the eps that the Troi plugin would use - "FileMaker HD:Ad copy:#####" (##### represents the eps file). Now that I want to use a remote machine and have the Ad copy folder shared I've been unsuccessful in modifying the calc to pickup the shared folder. I've tried - folder only - "Ad copy:####" desktop - "Desktop:Ad copy:####" and "Desktop:Network:Ad copy:####" the remote machine - "Filemaker:Ad copy:####" and "afp://172.16.20.87/:Ad copy:####" and "172.16.20.87:Ad copy:####" Does anybody know the path reference to a shared disk? Thanks for your help! Steve
September 30, 200223 yr When you mount the shared volume via Appleshare, what is the name? It is probably the desktop reference that is screwing you up since the Desktop is actuall in you local HD. ShareName:FolderName:FileName is the proper syntax. It is also possible that you need to give the plugin a FileSpec and NOT the path. There are other functions in the plugin that will convert the path to the filespec.
September 30, 200223 yr Author Hi Kurt, Thanks for responding so quickly. Correct, the folder is now being treated like a disk. That's why my first attempt was to delete the reference of the disk (FileMaker HD) and only use the folder name. I was disappointed when this simple change didn't work. I don't think that it would make a difference if I shared the whole hard disk and not just the folder. (I'd rather not share the entire disk if I don't have to.) I'm not sure about the FileSpec. The path has been working well for 4 months. The eps pics are odd too in that they are XPress files saved/exported as eps. Take care Steve
October 1, 200223 yr Author Hi All, My mistake! I'm too embarrased to explain my stupid oversight but treating the shared folder as a disk Does Work. So, the correct path was my first choice of Ad copy:eps pic file name. Thanks for help. Steve
