I'm curious about a couple things with the DDR Report (database version)

SOME ISSUES:

Is there something wrong with my template, or are others running into these annoyances?

1. calculation field info does NOT indicate data type (Text, number, etc)

2. most calc fields display the formula both as a calculation itself AND1?! as an auto-entered calc.

TEMPLATE EDITING ADVICE NEEDED:

Before I spend hours trying to reinvent the wheel I wonder if anyone's found ways to edit the DDR Template as follows:

1. I'd to Mark records in a manner that will only display marked records for printing purposes? Has anyone hack the DB template to do this?

2. I'm desperate to find a way to reorder the Fields (to match my custom order rather than creation order) ideas???

3. Lastly has anyone already developed a solution which compares the current report with the last.

Thanks in advance,

xandra

The DDR is another of FMI's half-done improvements. It's woefully inadequate. I suggest you look at Chaparral's Brushfire or Waves in Motion Analyzer Pro. The latter has one significant limitation: it will occupy a machine totally, so if your solution is large you'll need to run it at night. Either way, both are huge improvements over the DDR.

Might be that the Developer 5.5 version2 version made some improvements on the DDR-report compared to Dev 5.5 version1. At least check out if you have the version 2 (downloadable at filemaker.com)
