toshog Posted October 10, 2002 Posted October 10, 2002 hi all, my apologies in advance for the stupid question but i have to "upgrade" a huge database that somebody build before me and the client wants to add more sub-fields to repeating fields. some of those are part of calculation formulas and i'm wondering if i just edit the field to add more repetitions is that going to have some effect on the calculations???
toshog Posted October 10, 2002 Author Posted October 10, 2002 ok.. here is an addition to the question above.. an example: f1 is multiple field - 6 repetitions f2 is multiple too - 6 repetitions f3 is a calculation field that calculates f2 based on the value of f1 problem: since calculation fields can not be repeating fields when f3 calculates the f2 it only takes in consideration what is in the first repetition of f1 and it stops there. how do i make f3 to calculate values for all the repetitions in f1 and put them in the respective repetitions in f2? thanks..
LiveOak Posted October 10, 2002 Posted October 10, 2002 It's a little hard to give an accurate answer without seeing the repeating fields are used. -bd
LiveOak Posted October 10, 2002 Posted October 10, 2002 Where did you get the idea that calculation fields can't have repeating results? They can. -bd
