I just cant get this tricky value list to work?

Featured Replies

After many an hour of trying to figure this one out I have hit a wall. I was wondering if anyone could give me a pointer.

Here is what does work:

1) Database called Contacts. Two fields, One called "ID" and one called "Name."

2) Database called Jobs. Has a field also called "ID." Uses a relationship back to Contacts based on the two fields ID : ID. Uses a pop-up with a value list that shows the "Name" from the contact database.

Here is what I am trying to get added into the equation:

3) A third database called Files. Contacts has a portal that links to this third database. The relationship is based off of ID : ID. The third related database also has a field called "Name."

What I want to happen is in the main Jobs database if I create a record, and the record uses an "ID" that matches one of the records from the Contact dtabase, the value list in Jobs will show the "Name" from Contacts record. And also if the Contacts record has any records in the related portal that contain "Name," I also want the value list in Jobs to include the "Name" from the Contact record and the "Name" from any of the records in the portal in the Contact record.

I just cant quite get this particular value list to work.

Any pointers in the right direction would be GREATLY appreciated.
