halbj Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 I am trying to get my search results format file to appear as a FileMaker layout would look with a sub-summary part in preview mode. ie Search results Category1 record1 record2 record3 Category2 record4 record5...... etc does anyone know a truly dynamic way of achieving this? I don't care if it is a mixture of html/cdml/java whatever. Cheers - Halbj **No Philosophical comments here**
Garry Claridge Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 I often use Javascript for Sub-Summaries. Here is a good thread with a variety of examples: http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB22&Number=22835&Forum=UBB22&Words=summary&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=22826&Search=true#Post22835 All the best. halbj Posted October 30, 2002 Author Posted October 30, 2002 Garry Thanks for your post. I have already checked that thread. The issue I have with each of those examples is that the summary is 'defined'. The Java script example refers to a summary of "credit cards, cash and cheques. The results page I am working on may have any number of categories that I want to summarise. For example - I may want to find a list of events for a particular period and sort (Summarise) by username. does this make sense or am I missing something. I don't have a lot of experience with JS but I think I can understand the example. Any help would be awsome! Thanks
