I run a small cleaning firm and run FM 5.5 on a mac. I'm new to FM and was wondering what is the best plug-ins to get for FM for a service company, or do I really need any. I'm mainly using it for my customer base, but would like it to alert me when it's been pasted 6 months since a customer had there last cleaning, it that possible?

It really depends on what you plan to do with FM. There is a very wide range of add-ons, with more being constantly added. Usually, people go to plugins only when they find that Filemaker can't handle a specific function on its own.

You don't need a plugin to alert you when a customer hasn't been cleaned in 6 months. That can be handled with a script (which you can run when you start FM if you want). There are other ways of doing this as well.
