paulmetzger Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 i'm printing from a layout that is basically just: field1 label [field1 text area, about 5 lines long] field2 label [field2 text area, about 5 lines long] when the data in field1 takes less then the space allocated to it, i'd like the other elements on the page to move up. will fmp do this for me? the workaround i came up with was to make a calculation do all of the formatting, but that doesn't seem very elegant. suggestions?
jasonwood Posted January 1, 2003 Posted January 1, 2003 Look for "Sliding/Printing" in the menus. You can apply "Sliding" properties to objects on your layout. There are probably lots of posts already on this topic so if you have trouble just search for sliding and printing.
paulmetzger Posted January 2, 2003 Author Posted January 2, 2003 Jason, thanks for the help. I figgured fmp should be able to do it, but I didn't know what it was called. My 800 page filemaker book has about 6 lines about "sliding objects", which doesn't explain anything. This forum is the best fmp resource I've found, thanks to people like you.
