Anh_Tran Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Dear All, I just reinstall Filemaker Server and create a directory in that directory. So I want to see host files ...but can not see it as before ... I did not see local host ...So do I have to go tyo specify host ...and enter DNS name or IP address? Do you guys have any ideas why? or do I have to reboot server??? I do need to run files on server Thanks
jasonwood Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 In FileMaker Server, do the files show up as being served? If so, then make sure your server is setup to serve on the protocol the clients are set to. eg: if you have clients on AppleTalk and TCP/IP, make sure the server is set up to host both.
Guest Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 to add to the reply. if you have a firewall on the server, open port 5003. also try pinging the host from a remote client using a telnet window (tcp/ip). also try launching fmp client on the host and see if you can connect to the server.
