January 6, 200323 yr What I have gathered from reading in this forum is that my runtime solution can not be bound and work as a client. But can someone explain Filemaker's following statement: "You can build your own solution with FileMaker Developer 6. If it [is] intended to run as a stand-alone (non-networked) application, you can bind your solution using the Developer Tool and immediately deploy it. However, if a network solution is required, you need to license and install a copy of FileMaker Pro or FileMaker Server on your target machine, and then host your solution from there." To me this suggests that if I install FileMaker Server I can then host my runtime solution and it will work. Unless, of course, I'm not quite understanding what Filemaker means by "target machine."
January 6, 200323 yr Hi, FileMaker Server CAN host a runtime, but you will need FileMaker Pro Client on each machine that is going to access it. HTH
January 7, 200323 yr RE: "target machine." It will be the serving machine, the HOST. And then you need the clients as Andy wrote.
