I am attempting to build a media buying database for my ad agency. The project consists of three parts.

1. Insertion Order, this is the heart of the document, the other two parts just pull parts of this to summarize information.

2. Client Summary, pulls specific information from the insertion order

3. Media Flow Chart, Simple sub-totaling of parts of the I/O

My problem is the way that I have it set up I can only sort/find by network, I have date fields set up and I need to be able to group by date and then by network instead of the other way around. Can somebody please look at my solution and see if they have any ideas as to how to make this work better> Any help or suggestion is appreciated.

Hi Ryan,

I experienced similar issues recently. I created a calculated field that gave the first of the month for the date field.

The calculation specification ran as follows: Date(Month(Datefield), 1, Year(Datefield)). You can then run your sort based on

this field as it groups the dates nicely. If you want to group by week or year it can also be done. The end product was

beautifully grouped summary reports. Hope it helps.
