FritzOK Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 I have a label layout that I made, but I want to add a field to it. For some reason (duh) I can
trevorg Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 I'm going to assume you made the label layout using the label maker wizards. What you need to do is enter Layout Mode, and select the label layout. Once there, place the cursor where you want to add the field. Then from the insert menu, select Merge Field. Choose the field to add and that's it! One word of caution, each field is surrounded by <<field>> two delimiters. you need to make sure you don't disrupt those when entering the new field...
trevorg Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 The formatting of a merge field is dependent on the very FIRST delimiter. It's possible you missed the very first "<" when setting the formatting. Example using colors to illustrate: If you had: [color:"red"]<[color:"blue"]<field>> the entire final output would be Red. Of course filemaker doesn't use colors like this, but it works that way for bolding, font size, and font type.
FritzOK Posted January 9, 2003 Author Posted January 9, 2003 I get it, but all the other labels are previewing fine. Only one in a set of 10 isn
harryk Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 It may be that you set changed something to the style in a field in a record in browse mode. Then this change overrides the style-attributes that were defined in the fields on a lay-out in lay-out mode. If it's a field in a specific record that deviates, then this is very probably the case. I'm only not quite sure about the way to restore this. I assume deleting the contents of the particular field and enter it again. Harryk
FritzOK Posted January 10, 2003 Author Posted January 10, 2003 simple fixes to dumb things. you said: I assume deleting the contents of the particular field and enter it again. that do
