Is there anyway to hide one field on a layout, so only the administrator of the file can see it?

I need to add a password to a very public inhouse database, but I don't want the whole building to see the actual password.

If I use the security file and limit their access to this field....does it also not allow them to see what's in it?

Any help would be appreciated.......thanks! Donna

Hi Donna!

You might also consider setting the font colors to the same as the field background ... just a thought!! I have no experience with Password restrictions on fields, so I don't know if removing from tab order is necessary since field access will be restricted via User Access. You might also use Status(CurrentUserName) to control your field display. But I'll bet you that some of the Forum Power Users will have a cleaner solution for you that will take all of these issues into account wink.gif

Hi Donna,

I found the easiest method was to create a font which consisted of asterisk's and setting the password field to use that font. You can download the font under sample files.
