Runtime versions running on Windows XP

Featured Replies

I've got a runtime filemaker app that was built using Filemake Developer 4.0 on a Mac. It was designed to run successfully on both Macs and Windows in general and it does....at least it does for every version of windows its been tested on. My question is: Will this app run ok under Windows XP? Are there any XP/Filemaker/runtime specific issues at all?

I have made a run-time solution for Mac and Windows including XP and I don

I bind Runtimes for use on XP without difficulty, but I am using Dev 5.5. I have read some issues on other lists about v4 on XP...some good some not.

Hi,

The quation asked about the XP specific issues was what i wanted to ask too but also this: I've been reading earlier posts on runtimes for wintels when using a Mac. Am I right to assume that I need a dev5.5 version for a wintel just to create runtimes for PC's?? It's not like I'm planning to get a box just for that.

In addition, it's not clear to me wich files I should include for a wintel runtime. There are several posts discussing this but none that just shows a listing of files... Maybe one of you guru's can help me out here?

TIA

JP

Your assumption would be correct. You need to bind Windows runtimes on a Win machine. I think most (but not all) FM discs will have both Mac and Win versions on them.
