will filemaker pro be able to help me?

I'm just wondering - I'm new to FMPro and am trying to sort out a database that will be used for inventory. I was pointed at FMPro and am wanting to know if I can build a database to do the following 'relatively' easily (I have reasonable programming skills) before I go ahead and purchase the full version?

Need to:

Set up many different product lists with categories for part, lead time, supplier, parts per product.

Make calculation reports that I can input number of products and it will define a separate list for each supplier with how many parts to order for that number of products I want to build.

Interface with accounting software at a later date (MYOB if you know it?)

This was nothing but a pain in Access. Can I use FMPro to do this easily?

Can I find cut and paste scripts that point me in the right direction for these type of queries?

Thanks

Gareith

Not sure exactly how "parts" and "products" fit together in your business, but there is little doubt that you will be able to do everything you want to do.

Will it be easy? depends what you call easy. It will be easier than Access, that's for sure.

Interfacing with accounting software will probably be the most difficult, you need to figure out the format of an IIF file (I think that's what they're called confused.gif ), or invest in a plugin.
