February 2, 200322 yr So this is it. After a long year of programming i can make a runtime version for my stand alone customers. So when i received the Filemaker Developer 6.0 version i could not wait to try it. But as always...there are some minor bugs in the developer edition. "only select files and do not drag and drop files in the developer too window" says the little white sheet of paper. No problem...just selected the files with the "add file" button and build the stand alone runtime version. But after 30 seconds of compiling...filemaker developer tool crashes:( Trying different ways of adding files and playing with option in the developer tool...it doesn't help. A call with filemaker was almost a loss of my money..."we know there is a problem...its best to use developer 5.5 instead of 6.0. that one won't crash" I think this is a little odd...after paying 600 euros for the package and filemaker is saying that i must use version 5.5 becouse that one doensn't crash? Offcourse i tried an few empty database for the test...and it's crashing...no matter what i do:( Since i'm very carefull with backups...my database has a crahscount of zero...so where is the real problem filemaker can't handle? Anyone here hase the same problem? Please let me know....maybe there is someone who has it all figured out! Jeff
February 3, 200322 yr Newbies I assume you're using a Mac with OS-X? The developer tool has tendency to crash under some versions of OS-X. If so, see if you can try binding on a different version of X. What fails on one version seems to work on another.

February 10, 200322 yr I am using Developer 6.0 with Mac OS 9.22 with no problems and the runtime package also runs on 10.x so far with no problems.
