raymanj Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 I would like to know how I can use different keyboard keys to run a script. I have checked the boards here and no mention of it. I saw one Filemaker solution, called PayGo, that uses the function keys (F1, F2, etc) to run scripts with one key press. How do they assign a function key to a script? Thanks
andygaunt Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 Well, you could use CTRL (CMD on the Mac) and a number 1-0 to assign scripts to a button straight out of the box, by leaving the option checked to include in the scripts menu. Other than that, you can use a plug-in Menu control from http://www.dacons.net/fmplugins/menucontrol/index.html that allows you to create your own menu's for FM PRo, and assign scripts to any keyboard combination (including the function keys) HTH
BobWeaver Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 Another Mac only solution is to assign the function keys to perform an applescript. The applescript in turn would execute a Filemaker script.

Also I don't think any apple events are being used either as this FM solution (PayGo) will run on Windows. Items in the PayGo extension folder: USER.UPR USENGLSH.MPR UKENGLSH.MPR Troi Serial X extension Troi Serial Plug-In Troi File Plug-In Troi Dialog Plug-in oAzium Portal Filter oAzium Events Excel eAuthorize DBF claddon.clr None of these support function key running a script. They must have a way to do this. If anyone knows how please direct me. Thanks
