snekkis Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 Hi there, Does anyone know about a scriptstep to autoplay QuickTime items so it would work on both mac and win? Would be nice not have to think toward Director. Thanks!
Mike D. Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 Go to Field[select/Perform,QTfield] The QTfield is a container field with your Quicktime object in it. Just make sure the machine has quicktime loaded on it. HTH, Mike
snekkis Posted February 13, 2003 Author Posted February 13, 2003 Thanks, Mike! That answered my question, but unfortunately not my solution I tried to make. The scriptstep starts the QT object without the playbar, which I hoped for, but as the object is fired up, the script can only be stopped manually(command + .), if you want to go to the playbar controls, which was not good. I tried Exit script, Exit record and go to field, to the script step, but no. Is there a workaround for this?
Mike D. Posted February 14, 2003 Posted February 14, 2003 To be honest with you, I haven't tried that scenario. I'm not aware of a way to do exactly what you want, but you're doing what I would do and experiment. Perhaps someone else has already figured it out and will respond to this thread. Mike

When you say "the script can only be stopped manually", do you mean the *playback* can only be stopped manually? The script is done after you perform the Go to field[select/perform] step. To stop playback, I would try going to next record, then previous record. You'd have to include a step to check if it is the last record, in which case it should go to previous record, then next record. Good luck!
