I've created a pretty elaborate dB with a calendar, medical notes, and everything, but I can't figure out how to restrict access. I've set passwords, but how do you get the computer to ask for the password in the first place? To open, I just click on the file on my Desktop and it opens with no PW request. I don't want my secretary, who uses the same computer, to screw up all my good work.

I'm sure it's simple but I can't find the instructions anywhere- here or in books. Thanks for any direction.

Hi lobonacci,

It sounds like you have a password in the "Try when opening box under

Menu - "Edit" - "Preferences" - "Document." Uncheck the box, or use the lowest level of password such as user.

Thanks but I can't get into the documents access box from the menu because it says I do not have sufficient access privileges

Hold the option key down while opening the file. Type in a password that has full access to the files, then go to the start up and see what is there
