Is there a way to find all records in a source file when importing other than using a script in the source file?

Problem - I need to make sure all records in a source file are available when importing into a destination file. I could put a script in all the source files to show all records and run as an external script but if this is not necessary it would save a lot of trouble.

Well, worth a try anyway, I guess I should get busy writing scripts in the files.
