Problems FM4.1 in Classic

Featured Replies

Hi,

if I run FM 4.1Dv1 in Classic 9.2 (booted OSX 10.2.4) there are some problems to move fields in layout-mode: the field are duplicated. Under 10.1.5 it was ok.

Any Ideas?

Thx, Willi

What happens if you hold down the "Option" (PC - Control) key when dragging? This normally duplicates a field, maybe it will switch to non-duplicate in your situation. Might give a clue as to what is happening.

Hi,

nothing at all: its the same. (it looks like a big bug)

I'm surprised FMP 4.1 works *at all* in classic in OSX!

At the very least patch your copy to 4.1v3.

Hi,

I think its not a problem from FM 4.1, at least from OSX 10.2.4., many other guys here had the same problems.

I called the german support, but they didnt recognize the problem, so its a feature not a bug :-))

Hi, willi! Hmm... now that you mention it, I have seen this problem before and it was on a database in 5.x that was originally 4.x. It was driving me nuts but I managed by selecting the fields and using the arrow keys to move them and this did not duplicate them. I had forgotten about this since we bought FMP6 client for that station (X-native) and have not had a problem since. Try the arrows, though, if you have to... they worked for me short term even though it took a long time to modify the layouts.
