I am running Mac OS X.2.4 and Filemaker Pro 6.3 and trying to print to a LaserWriter Select 360 over a 100mb network.

I have a strange problem where when I try to print from a particular DB "Tracker" the print job seems to get prepared and forwarded to the Print Centre but the Print Centre doesnt recieve it.

I can print from all other application without problems. I can also (which is why I'm confused) print from any other FM DB.

I have completely removed FM and reinstalled, being sure to remove; com.filemaker.filemakerpro.plist and

FileMaker Pro 6.0 Prefs before reinstalling.

To make it even more weird all other 7 users of this DB ARE able to print from it without issue.

The problem started about 4 days ago. I have racked my brain to think of anything I may have changed on this system. The only thing I can think of is that I installed a new font about this time.

HELP!!

This can happen if you have a bad font. Since you say that you installed a new font around the time that this started happening, I suggest you delete the new font, or change the fonts you are using in the filemaker print layout and see if the problem goes away.

Thx Ron, the answer to your PS question is of course "Hell" AKA Iraq.

SUCCESS!! I tracked this problem down to a font called

"Helvetica Neue 3 A"

This was installed with a set of 9 fonts called "Helvetica Neue".

It was only 3A that caused a problem.

The reason it was only causing the print error when using one particular DB and not any others is because at one stage I must have Copied and Pasted some text which was created using this font into a field in that DB. Weird stuff. I could understand if I had chosen the font while building the layout and formating a field but seems bizzare that it was caused by entering data.
