Newbies chewy Posted March 17, 2003 Newbies Posted March 17, 2003 Hi, I want to pull multiple repetitions from several repeating fields and put them into new tables/files that will be more conducive to relational DB design. I want to take each repetition along with the UserID, for the field and put them into a new table... So I'm going from this repeating field table layout: ID RepeatingFieldValues 10 Value1 Value2 Value3 Value4 20 Value5 Value8 Value1 30 Value3 To something that should look like this: ID Value 10 Value1 10 Value2 10 Value3 10 Value4 20 Value5 20 Value8 20 Value1 etc. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help! chewy
danjacoby Posted March 18, 2003 Posted March 18, 2003 When you import the records into the new file, you will have the option of separating the repeating field into different records. It's a dialog box that pops up automatically. Don'cha jus' love it when they make it easy?
