Newbies HMo Posted March 18, 2003 Newbies Posted March 18, 2003 We working on moving from eBase 1 to eBase 2. If you haven't heard of it, it's a free donor and contact managment database for the the nonprofit community. eBase 2 requires Filemaker Server. However, it looks like there are some problems with Filemaker server on OS X, and a Mac server costs more anyway. I suggested that we setup a windows box to be the server. Does anyone know about problems with serving OS X clients from a Windows server? The clients are 5.5. The server will be 2000 Server, with 5.5 or higher Filemaker. Thanks for your help. Hayes
Newbies macmanifest Posted April 10, 2003 Newbies Posted April 10, 2003 I tried that, and ended up getting databases that ended up being corrupted. I don't need the headache. So I placed Filemaker Server on a OS 9 Box. So far so good. Aaron
