I dont know if this is the right place for this post and I apologise if it is. I am trying to create a report that shows the first and last name from a record that meet certain criteria from a value list

eg

Books Returned

Not Returned.........Returned........Unknown <--------- these are the values

Peter................Bill............Raymond

Christine............Ray.............Bruce

Natasha..............Jessica

Fred

Kaye

Is it possible

The columnar report you mention can be done, but it takes a lot of work ... FileMaker does things vertically rather than horizontally

You might easily create a report using a subsummary part by "Book Status" and have:

Not Returned

Peter

Christine

Natasha

Fred

Kaye

Returned

Bill

Ray

Jessica

The layout wizard is very helpfun in this regard:

create a new layout, choose the "Columnar list" option, in the next screen choose "Report with grouped data" and go ahead
