We are running filemaker Pro with webserver and here is the issue we are facing. Our clients are able to view their own databases buy entering the webaddress with the database name but if they don't enter a database name it takes them to the main list which has all the otehr database names listed. The problem with this is I work for a law firm and they don't want our clients to know who else we act for (for obious reasons) what can I do to stop this ? can I add a login page for them so that once they enter a certain user name and password it directs them to a list of all the matters relevant to them but no-one else ? I don't have my mind set on that idea it was just a though . If anyone has had to deal with this before or if you have some ideas around it I would really appreciate the help.

Thanx in advance

Hi, Skat! I'm not familiar w/Instant Web Publishing or exactly what you mean, but I suspect it's just a home page default-thing...

You should be able to change the default page to something other than the FileMaker Pro standard in the Web Companion configuration area. Someone typing the URL http://www.whatever.com will see the default web page, which by default (pun) is FileMaker's db list selection welcome page. You should make a custom web page yourself (if you have not made one before, you should be able to make a simple quickie from Microsoft Word)... save it as "index.html" or something and put it in your FileMaker Pro Web folder. Then, go back to Web Companion configuration and select your new index.html page as the default home page.

I'm shooting in the dark but I hope this helps. Creating a custom login system that directs users to their own info is probably more work than you want to do.
